Sciatic Pain

Growing a baby is a difficult task for moms, studies have shown 50 to 80 percent of pregnant women report lower back pain and 50 percent report pelvic pain not to mention lack of sleep and other aches and pains.

Back Pain- either lower or upper, between your shoulder blades are very common and mostly appears during the second trimester.

Sciatic nerve pain- Your sciatic nerve is sensitive to postural changes, so pregnancy often puts pressure on it causing discomfort anywhere along your lower back, hips, buttocks and down the back of your legs.

Carpal Tunnel- Caused by the loosing of relaxin and swelling, carpal tunnel is a common ailment during the second and third trimesters.

Fatigue- Fatigue is extreme tiredness from being pregnant, anemia and hormonal changes can contribute to fatigue. Nausea as well as feelings of depression or anxiety can drain a pregnant woman’s energy level, not to mention not being able to sleep due to getting adjusted to new sleeping positions.

Testimonials

"Garden City Prenatal is a must for every stage of your pregnancy. I always walked in feeling the weight of my body and left feeling as if I was floating. I had my body back. I was referred by a friend who swore by Saira and her magical hands and she seriously didn’t disappoint. She is so knowledgeable about the anatomy of a pre and postnatal mama, I knew I was in good hands. Treat yourself or treat your partner to a wonderful experience you deserve it!"

Laura L.

"Going to Saira was a good decision. When I arrived she was setting up the room and bed. We went over any problems and discussed things in my pregnancy. She explained in great detail of what to expect during the massage and how it would be done. Massage was great! Will definitely be going back for another one."

Nicole M.

"I had prenatal massages and non-prenatal massages with Sai. She by far is an exceptional, knowledgeable practitioner. I really appreciate the conversation regarding my ailments beforehand and the right amount of checking on pressure and soreness. Sai has all the tools and expertise you'd want and need for a prenatal massage. The studio space in Garden City is a convenient oasis found in the midst of the busy town around it. It is calming, private, clean and focused - no interruptions from the coming and going of other practitioners and their clients."

DURING PREGNANCY

Massage Therapy will provide benefits throughout a woman’s pregnancy, as well as during labor, childbirth and postpartum. It also helps to relieve edema, varicose veins, and high blood pressure.

HOW PRENATAL MASSAGE AFFECTS LABOR AND DELIVERY

  • 25% shorter delivery time
  • 30% less need for pain medication
  • 50% fewer Cesarean births
  • 60% fewer request for epidurals

POSTNATAL MASSAGE

The benefits of massage therapy don’t end when your baby is born! Postpartum massage will help return your uterus, pelvic floor, digestive, and bladder health back to normal. It can also ease the emotional anxiety that comes with the elevated hormone levels of post-pregnancy.
